This book is a perfect read to my children. They can very well identify with the main character Marcie a ten year old , who is eager to take responsibilities more than she can handle. This book teaches how fun leads to responsibilities and responsibilities comes with many challenges. So how to deal with challenges in life. So we should choose our responsibilities very carefully otherwise life is going to be a mess. My children absolutely love the book and the hilarious narration combined with colorful and engaging illustrations.

As a kindergarten/grade 1 student teacher, I absolutely love the various themes covered by this fun, playful, and creative picture book! This is a book that truly sparks joy for students and fuels a passion for reading all while tackling large and important themes, such as diversity and acceptance.

The ‘Corresponding Curriculum Package’ (unit) provided is extremely helpful for teachers to incorporate this book, and the themes that arise from it, into their classrooms. It completely aligns with BC’s New Curriculum and clearly identifies the big ideas, core competencies, curricular competencies, and content pieces that are associated with each of the three lessons.

I highly recommend this book for primary teachers that want to instil a passion for reading in their young learners!

This book is absolutely adorable!! It was a gift for me daughter Isabella’s 4th birthday and she loves it! I can’t tell you how many times we have read it together. My youngest who is almost 2 finds it hilarious and asks for me to read it over and over again.
