Bring our story to life — stitch by stitch.
Meet Marcie, the little girl from What If Bunny Poo Was Square?, a whimsical children’s book lovingly written by my mom, Teri Baker, and co-authored with me, Jonica van Rikxoort. Together, we brought this story to life — my mom saw it finished, signed books for delighted children, and shared her story through interviews and events.
Creating a whimsical and charming crochet doll and pattern inspired by the children’s book “What if Bunny Poo Was Square?” Authored by Teri Baker and illustrated by Izabela Byzmek. I was captivated by the challenge of turning the story’s main character, Marcie, into a tangible piece of art. I poured my heart into every stitch, ultimately turning it into a beloved passion project. I hope you enjoy making her as much as I did!
This pattern is written in English using U.S. crochet terms. The majority of this pattern is worked in continuous rounds, from bottom up, with arms and head sewn together in different sections. I use the yarn over technique for a tighter ‘x’ stitch. You can use either over or under.
